We have been raising registered Texas Longhorn cattle since 1979, as a sideline. Our herd is very small, usually around 20 head of brood cows. The bloodlines we have settled on are predominantly Butler, with a lot of Bold Ruler influence. Our cattle are bred very close, as we feel that this will throw more consistent genetics, especially on an out cross. We don’t want to raise bulls that throw a mixed lot of calves.
This is a hardy herd, gentle, and well mannered. They are not pets, however. We have a zero tolerance policy for fence crawlers, mean cows, or non-breeders. They are a healthy herd, without a lot of unnecessary medications and vaccinations. The heifer calves are all Bangs vaccinated. Our first priority is a maintenance free cow that raises a good calf every year. Horn size next, with color in the back seat.
We sell bull, heifer, and steer calves as available. Only three or four of the best bull calves and the best heifer calves are kept each year for sale as breeding stock. Our cows all can be for sale, each at a different price. We dont hide the best ones in another pasture.
Sometimes we offer great older bulls for sale. Steers are sold to people interested in seeing a large set of horns and a beautiful hide. They really are a spectacular animal!

This is Trail Dust 40 as a three year old. Horn length is 68.5", measured on November 6, 2007. All of our 2006, 2007 and many of our upcoming 2008 calves are sired by Trail Dust 40. His pedigree holds the top names in the breed, including such bulls as Roundup, Chuckwagon and Bold Ruler; and cows such as Tari Graves with horns measuring 75". |
Sire: Hunts Command Respect, 5-time winner of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association Horn Showcase, the official horn measurement competition in Fort Worth, TX. He won his class in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, 2007 as a 3, 4, 5, 6 and now 7 year old, with an official horn length of 75 3/8" tip to tip.
Dam: Saw Dust 23, sired by Chuckwagon. As a three year old, she came in third in her class at the 2005 Horn Showcase competition in Fort Worth, TX, with an official horn measurement of 66 3/4" tip to tip. She measured well into the 70's", fall 2007.

| We used a yearling son of Trail Dust named Hickock (shown above, forefront), out of our cow Snorty, on some young cows and are anxious to see how he develops. |
Hickock as a baby calf with his mother, Snorty. |
 |
| We would now like to introduce you to Image Maker. We feel he will out-cross extremely well with Trail Dust's daughters. Image Maker's sire is the over 70" T2T, Shadowizm. His dam, Tammy Fay, is an outstanding cow, and has been a great producer. Her 2003 daughter sold at the 2006 Summer Horn Showcase sale for $11,500. We will keep you posted on Image Maker's upcoming progress. |

We are running out of room!
We have to move some cattle and decided to share three of our great cows with someone else (Hatch's Candy, Darla and Snorty). This is a tremendous genetic core to introduce into any herd, startup or long term. These are the kind of cows that will help you meet your herd goals. We have 5 generations originating from Candy, on the ground at this time, and know from experience that these cows will do the same terrific job for you. Where else can you find 3 cows available that are so closely related?

Cactus 11
Cactus is a large cow, born in 2001. She is out of our heavy horned cow, Mirlo, and has the same huge based horns that go high, measuring 53” tip to tip at last measurement, November 2007. She goes back to Bold Ruler top and bottom through Suspender, son of Bold Ruler.
